The Lemhi County Sheriff's Office is located in the County Seat, which is Salmon. The Sheriff's Office issues driver's license and concealed weapons permits.
The Sheriff's Office serves all civil process, provides jail and dispatch services to the Salmon Police Department.
Dispatching services are also provided to the Salmon Search and Rescue, Salmon Valley Fire Department,Salmon EMT's, Leadore EMT's, Elk Bend EMT's and numerous QRU's.
The Lemhi County Sheriff's Office consists of approximately 13 full-time and part-time patrolmen.
The Sheriff's Office patrols approximately 2,000 square miles.
This includes the communities of Leadore, Gibbonsville, Gilmore, Elk Bend, Baker, North Fork, and Shoup.
The Lemhi County Jail and Dispatch staff consists of approximately 16 full-time and part-time officers. The jail is an adult and juvenile facility, housing both males and females, with a total capacity of 26 beds.

oppression or intimidation; the peaceful against violence or disorder; and to respect and protect the Constituional Rights of all to liberty, equality and justice.
